Recall of some Core Powerfoods frozen meals

Core Powerfoods is conducting a recall of some 310g and 350g frozen meals due to a potential

microbial (Salmonella Weltevreden) contamination.

The recall covers its Going Nuts, Deep South Chilli, Muay Thai Meatballs, Holy Meatballs,

Naked Chicken, Seismic Chicken, Old School, and Smokey Mountain Meatball products, with

the best before dates between 5/3/20 and 4/10/20 (inclusive).

The voluntary recall follows advice from Food Standards Australia New Zealand and state

health departments, who are continuing to investigate cases of Salmonella W contamination to

confirm their cause.

Customers should return the product to their place of purchase for a full refund. Any

consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

“We apologize for any inconvenience or distress caused,” said Core Powerfoods director Jake

Richardson. “Our first priority is the health of our customers.” “As soon as we were informed

of a potential link with our product we have acted immediately to conduct a full, voluntary

recall,” Mr Richardson said.

“We are assisting authorities as they attempt to confirm the source of this outbreak and have

placed a temporary halt on production,” he said. Further information about the recall, and

Salmonella W can be found at
